Job Summary : Design and prepare specifications for chemical process systems, investigate the properties of raw materials and finished products and develop their engineering and commercial applications, and supervise industrial processing and manufacture of products.

Job Specifications :
• University Degree in Chemical Engineering / Applied Chemistry
• Registered in order of Engineers; Allowed to sign transaction documents required
• Fluent in English
• Observant and very good at paying attention to detail
• Has a logical, methodological approach to work
• Accurate when taking measurements and recording figures
• Good computer skills
• Good communication skills
• Able to compose effective and efficient reports
Duties and Responsibilities :
• Monitor the operations and make sure that the product is produced as per requirements
• Prepare designs for chemical process systems and planning control systems
• Inspect, test and ensure that all incoming raw materials conform to specifications before receiving them
• Inspect equipment used for proper calibration
• Take samples of the produced materials and keep it for reference after assigning serial number of sample batches
• Perform all the necessary tests to ensure the quality of products such as viscosity, pH and density and keep records of the results
• Keep records of all the tests carried out, make use of charts and statistics to analyze results and present a report
• Coordinate with the production supervisor on the test results of finished goods and recommend corrective actions when needed
• Review product failure data and implement laboratory tests to establish or reject possible causes, and advise corrective / preventive actions
• Responsible for declaring that a product is not safe or is not of the specified quality
• Review plans for new products and submit material selection recommendations in accordance with design specifications and factors such as strength, weight and cost planning and implement laboratory operations to develop new materials and fabrication procedures for new materials to fulfill production cost and performance standards
